Victory at the Jersey Legends came after a playoff against 1999 Open Champion Paul Lawrie. Green followed up his debut Senior Tour win with a second victory at the WINSTONgolf Senior Open in Germany in July.
Born in Melbourne, Green started golf aged six with his father up in the same Queensland golf club where Greg Norman played. He turned professional in 1992, playing firstly in Australia before joining the European Tour in 1996.
Green became the first left-hander to win on the European Tour in more than 20 years at the 1997 Dubai Desert Classic. Finished a career-best 17th in the money-list in 2004 and added further wins in a highly consistent career at the 2007 BA-CA Golf Open in Austria and Portugal Masters in 2010. Those three victories meant Green has won in each decade in his professional career. Green won the 2022 Jersey Legends to make it 8 professional career victories and ensured he has won in each decade of his professional career.
Green jointly holds the Carnoustie course record of 64, shot on his way to a tied fourth finish in The 2007 Open Championship. A fanatical motor sport fan, he loves to race Porsches and competed in the 2009, 2010 and 2011 Australian Grand Prix GT Category.
