Won his fifth European Tour title at the 2017 Joburg Open, sixteen years after his first win at the Sao Paulo Brazil Open in 2001.
Has also won 15 events on the Sunshine Tour, and topped their Order of Merit in 2000 and 2004.
Partnered with Retief Goosen in the 2000 WGC-World Cup.
In 2025, Fichardt made his debut on the Legends Tour at the OFX Irish Legends in May, finishing tied for second place. He continued his success with a strong performance at the Senior PGA Championship, where he secured an eighth-place finish. Later in the year, he participated in the ISPS HANDA Senior Open at Sunningdale Golf Club, finishing tied for 17th place with a score of 275 (−5).
