Michele Reale topped the European Challenge Tour Rankings in 1997 and was tipped by some to become the next Costantino Rocca.

He won twice on the Challenge Tour at the Russian Open and Canarias Challenge however he contracted measles in the summer of 1998 and finished 120th on the European Tour Order of Merit but was successful at the European Tour Qualifying School at remained on tour for the 1999 season. In 2000, Reale returned to the Challenge Tour and recorded seven top ten finishes, although a victory eluded his grasp. Reale made his debut on the Legends Tour in 2021 at the Italian Senior Open finishing 46th.
