Sadly Mauricio Molina, a Legends Tour winner and former DP World Tour member, died at the age of 56 in October 2023.
Born in Rio Cuarto, Cordoba, Argentina, Molina worked as a caddie in Buenos Aires, before turning professional in 1985.
Having participated in a contest in Brisas de Chicureo Golf Club in Chile, Molina passed away between the evening of Thursday 12th and early Friday 13th October.

Winner of more than thirty international and national competitions, including the Argentine Senior Professional Championship in 2022 and the Riegler & Partner Legends in Austria for the Legends Tour, Molina also held the title of double winner of the Argentine Seniors Open. In 2022, he finished tied third at the Senior Open presented by Rolex with his brother Alejandro on his bag.
The charismatic Argentinian won several tournaments in his homeland and across South America. In 1997 he carded a spectacular 59 in the opening round of the Nautico Hacoaj Grand Prix to set the record for the best round in Argentina.
From 2009, Mauricio played on the PGA Tour Canada and recorded two victories at the Costa Rica Classic and Mexican PGA Championship.
He played on the DP World Tour in 1998 and 2001, as well as the Challenge Tour between 2003 and 2008. His best tournament finish was third at the 2004 Costa Rica Open.
Molina finished fifth in the 2018 Legends Tour qualifying school and he would go on to claim a maiden title in 2021 at the Riegler & Partner Legends in Austria ahead of fellow countryman José Coceres.
He will be greatly missed as a kind and courteous man. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.
