Mark Wharton enjoyed a long and successful amateur career and turned professional in October 2012 with the objective of translating that into success on the Legends Tour.

Wharton carded his lowest round as a professional, an eight under par 63, converting nine birdies – including five in a row to start the back nine – and an eagle at Legends Tour Qualifying School in January 2020. That round moved him up 30 places on the leaderboard and ensured a card for the Legends Tour.
