Keen tennis player before taking up golf, age 14, at his school near Paris. Turned pro with a handicap of four and became qualified PGA Pro.

Worked for last seven years with Scottish pro, David Maxwell. Won the Open de Grenoble just a few weeks before successfully gaining his card at the 1998 Qualifying School.
