In 2020 Carl gained his card through Q-school, claiming the 5th and final spot after holing a birdie putt to win a three-man play-off.
A big-hitter off the tee, the Spaniard played his career on the Challenge Tour and the DP World Tour where he would have to wait until his 256th start for his maiden victory – the 2007 Open de Saint-Omer.
He topped the Challenge Tour rankings in
both 1999 and 2005 and would win six times on that Tour.
Born in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria to a Swedish father and English mother, Carl played amateur golf for England, attended college in the USA and then took up Spanish citizenship from 1996.
