Jason McAteer is a retired professional footballer, who won 52 international caps for the Republic of Ireland, and played at the World Cup in 1994 and 2002.

McAteer’s primary position was in central midfield, though he was versatile and played in multiple positions during his professional career that included playing for Bolton Wanderers, Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers, Sunderland and finally Tranmere Rovers.
