Glenn was 12 when he joined his boyhood club Tottenham Hotspur.
He made his first team debut aged 17 in 1975. He played 490 times for Spurs and scored 110 goals. In 1981 & 1982 Glenn was the star of the Spurs team that won the FA Cup in both years. In the 79/80 season he was voted PFA Young Player of the Year. After Spurs his club career took him to Monaco, Swindon Town and finally Chelsea where in 1993 he became Player Manager.
His International career for England lasted from 1979-1988 making 53 appearances and scoring 8 goals. In 1996 he was appointed England manger. The team qualified under his management for the 1998 World Cup Finals. He won 60% of his games as England manger.
