Local Legends can be anyone from the communities the Legends Tour visits during its Legends Series and they will be rewarded for their contributions to society through playing spots in the Pro-Am events throughout tournament weeks.

Anyone can nominate or be nominated as a Local Legend at the Scottish Senior Open hosted by Paul Lawrie.

Ryan Howsam, CEO of the Legends Tour, said: “We are thrilled to be able to reward the people who deserve recognition in their communities through our Local Legends initiative.

“We offer the greatest amateur experience in golf where golf fans can walk the fairways with some of the biggest names to ever play the game and by rewarding Local Legends, it makes it even more special.

“Our Legends want to play with your Local Legends so if you know somebody who deserves to be recognised for what they do for other people, then please nominate them.”

The Scottish Senior Open hosted by Paul Lawrie will visit Royal Aberdeen Golf Club from September 10-12, with the Championship Pro-Am taking place on Wednesday September 8.

Nominees must have a maximum handicap of 18 for men or 24 for ladies and must be able to attend the days for which they are offered a playing place. Nominees must be from Aberdeen, Inverness, Perth, Dundee and nearby communities.
