Gavin, an Irish former Gaelic football manager, earned 44 stableford points to win the second Celebrity Series event of the season by two points from Irish former Rugby Union player Keith Wood, who finished second, and three points ahead of Joe Canning, the Irish hurler who recently announced his retirement from the game at the age of 32.

A plethora of stars teed it up at Rosapenna Hotel & Golf Resort, including Staysure PGA Seniors Championship Alliance Pro-Am winner Robbie Fowler, TV presenter and face of the Legends Tour Georgie Bingham, and critically-acclaimed actor James Nesbitt, who will also compete in the Alliance Pro-Am over the next three days.

English Rugby World Cup winner Mike Tindall teed it up in County Donegal, as did former England cricket captain Sir Andrew Strauss, ex-Manchester City and Ireland striker Niall Quinn, and Irish legend Daniel O’Donnell.

Jim Gavin will now be given the opportunity to travel to Mauritius for the Celebrity Series Grand Final, where ten celebrities will compete for a £100,000 prize fund for their chosen charities.
