2014 European Ryder Cup stars Jamie Donaldson and Stephen Gallacher will return to Gleneagles for this year’s ISPS HANDA Senior Open, taking place on The King’s Course from July 23-26, 2026. Click here to purchase your tickets.

The pair were both part of the European Ryder Cup team who defeated the United States at Gleneagles in 2014, and they will join defending champion Pádraig Harrington, record 12-time Senior Major Champion Bernhard Langer and Major Champions Darren Clarke and Ernie Els in what promises to be a star-studded field.

Donaldson secured the winning point for Team Europe on the PGA Centenary Course in 2014 after defeating Keegan Bradley 4&3 to give Europe the 14½ points needed.

The 50-year-old already has two Legends Tour titles to his name, and he is relishing the prospect of returning to Gleneagles to make his ISPS HANDA Senior Open debut later this year.

“I can’t wait to make my debut in the ISPS HANDA Senior Open,” he said. “Gleneagles will always have a special place in my heart and securing the winning point for Team Europe in 2014 was the pinnacle of my career.

“The fans in Scotland are always fantastic to play in front of and the ISPS HANDA Senior Open looks like a great event, which we all look forward to playing in.”

Four-time DP World Tour winner Gallacher made his ISPS HANDA Senior Open debut last year, finishing in a tie for 12th at Sunningdale, and he is looking forward to making his second appearance on home soil at Gleneagles in July.

“There’s nothing quite like playing in Scotland,” said Gallacher. “The support I get on home soil is very special and winning the Ryder Cup in 2014 at Gleneagles is a moment I’ll never forget.

“I thoroughly enjoyed my first ISPS HANDA Senior Open last year and I can’t wait to tee it up on The King’s Course and experience it all again.”

It will be the 39th edition of the Senior Open, which was first played in 1987 and brings together stars from the Legends Tour and PGA TOUR Champions, the over-50s Tours based in Europe and the United States, with a host of Major Champions, Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup stars and winners from across the globe set to compete.
