The Senior Open Presented by Rolex will welcome 51 players who progressed through the Monday Qualifying events ahead of this week’s Senior Major Championship.

Two events were held at Blairgowrie Golf Club, on the Rosemount and Lansdowne courses, as well as 18-hole qualifiers at Ladbybank Golf Club and Glenbervie Golf Club.

Englishman Mark Brown posted a seven under par 64 to lead the qualifiers at Glenbervie, where he was joined by 12 other players including Legends Tour member Andrew Raitt.

The qualifying event at Ladybank Golf Club produced 14 qualifiers, led by Welshman Gary Houston courtesy of a four under round of 67, and dreams came true for amateurs Rusty Strawn, of the USA, and English duo Robert Maxfield and James Crampton who secured their places alongside legends of the game on the King’s Course this week.

Blairgowrie Golf Club welcomed 227 hopefuls to its two courses and 24 players emerged successful after an 18-hole battle. A total of 13 players qualified from the event on the Rosemount, with the lowest score shared by American duo Tom Gillis and Clifford Kresge on 67, six under par.

The Lansdowne course, meanwhile, produced 11 qualifiers, including winner Glenn Joyner from Australia on seven under par, as well as South African legend David Frost.
